In his Saheeh, Imaam
al-Bukhaaree رحمه الله reported that Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنهما said:
“{كُونُوا رَبَّانِيِّينَ} {Be
Rabbaaniyyoon (pious religious scholars)}, forgiving, wise, and learned men.”
And it is also said:“al-Rabbaaniy
is the one who starts teaching people simple subjects of knowledge before
touching big (difficult) ones.”
