Tafseer: {Illiterates who know not the Book}

Verily there is no doubt about the statement of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم when he said:

“You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure (desert lizard), you would follow them.” The companions asked: “O Allaah’s Apostle! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Whom else?” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (3456, 7320) and Saheeh Muslim (2671) on the authority of Abu Sa`eed al-Khudree

Bragging Rights!

It is Shirk to perform a righteous deed for worldly reasons:

The reward for the action/deed is lost once a person intends with it the praises of the people instead of the pleasure of Allaah. We should take heed of these warnings and contemplate before we speak because many people tend to do this unknowingly. The intention might not necessarily be wrong in the beginning, but later the habit of bragging sets in. So, before/after doing a righteous deed (like: `Umrah, Hajj, Sadaqah etc) the person makes it public and updates the status on his social network as:

Astrology/Horoscope is nothing but hoax.

The real purpose of creating stars (including shooting stars) is as Allaah تعالى says:

{It is He Who has set the stars for you, so that you may guide your course with their help through the darkness of the land and the sea.} [Surah al-An`aam (6): 97]

{And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayaateen (devils)…} [Surah al-Mulk (67): 5]

Imaam Al-Bukhaaree رحمه الله recorded in his Saheeh that Qataadah رحمه الله said: “Allaah created the stars for three purposes: (1) As ornaments of the heavens; (2) As missiles against the devils; (3) As signposts for the guidance of travelers. Whoever interprets otherwise is mistaken. Such a person is to lose his reward (on the Day of Resurrection), and takes upon himself that which is outside his knowledge.”

The verse which the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم recited the whole night

Concerning the saying of Allaah

{If You punish them, they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, verily You, only You are the Almighty, the All-Wise.} [Surah al-Maa’idah (5): 118]

Narrated `Abdullaah ibn `Amr ibn al-`Aas رضي الله عنهما: Verily the Apostle of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم recited the words of Allaah تبارك وتعالى that Ibraaheem عليه السلام uttered: {My Lord! Lo! They have led many of mankind astray: But whoso follow me, he verily is of me} [Surah Ibraaheem (14): 35], and `Eesaa عليه السلام said: {If You punish them, lo! they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them--verily You are the Mighty, the Wise} [Surah al-Maa’idah (5): 118] Then he صلى الله عليه وسلم raised his hands and said: “O Lord, my Ummah, my Ummah, and wept. So Allaah تبارك وتعالى said: “O Gabriel, go to Muhammad (though your Lord knows it fully well) and ask him: what makes you weep?” So Gabriel عليه السلام came to him and asked him, and the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم informed him of what he had said (though Allaah knew it fully well). Upon this Allaah تعالى said: “O Gabriel! Go to Muhammad and say: Verily We shall please you with regards to your Ummah and shall not displease you.” [Saheeh Muslim (306)]

It was narrated that Jasrah bint Dijaajah said: I heard Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه saying: “The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم stood (in Tahajjud) reciting a Verse and repeating it until morning came.” That Verse was: {If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily, You, only You, are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.} [Sunan Ibn Maajah (1350) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

Hadeeth: "You are my share of the Umam"

And what will be the answer of those who, after knowing the authenticity of the Hadeeth, still reject it because it goes against their Madhhab??!

Hadeeth: Love of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and poverty

A man said to the Prophet By Allaah, O Messenger of Allaah, I do love you. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Look, what you are saying?” The man said: By Allaah, I love you, and repeated this sentence thrice. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “If you really love me, then, be prepared for acute poverty; for extreme hardship rushes more rapidly towards a person, who loves me, than a flood flows towards its destination.”

Etiquette: Revenge

A gentle heart is the one which forgives (the mistakes), overlooks (the faults), and does not seek revenge for personal causes.

Hadeeth: "Importance of al-Qur'aan in protecting the religion"

Narrated Hudhaifah bin al-Yamaan رضي الله عنه: The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Islaam will wear out just as embroidery on a garment wears out, until no one will know what fasting is, what prayer is, what the religious rites (of Hajj) are and what charity is. And the Book of Allaah will be lifted overnight, and not one verse of it will remain on the earth. And there shall remain group of people, old aged men and women saying: ‘We found our fathers upon this statement: Laa ilaaha illallaah (No one is worthy of worship except Allaah), so we say it too.’” Silah (Hudhaifah’s companion) said to him (i.e. Hudhaifah): “What will ‘Laa ilaaha illallaah’ do for them when they don’t know what fasting, prayer, rites and charity are?” Hudhaifah turned away from him, so he repeated his question three times, each time Hudhaifah would turn away from him. Then on the third, he turned to him and said three times: “O Silah! It will save them from the Hellfire!”

Tafseer: Surah al-Maa`oon (107)

{1. Have you seen him who denies Al-Deen 2. That is he who repulses the orphan, 3. And urges not the feeding of Al-Miskeen. 4. So, woe unto those performers of Salaah, 5. Those who with their Salaah are Saahoon. 6. Those who do good deeds only to be seen, 7. And withhold al-Maa`oon.}

Tafseer: Division is a punishment

{Say: “He has power to send calamities on you from above and below or to cover you with confusion in party strife giving you a taste of mutual vengeance each from the other.” See how We explain the Signs by various (symbols) that they may understand.} [Surah al-An`aam (6): 65]

If this is Solar flare - then what about the Sun itself?

Every once in a while we read this news that: “solar flare is heading toward Earth and could disrupt power grids, satellite navigating systems and airplane flights. The blast sent billions of tons of superhot gas into space etc. etc.” and how the earth’s magnetic fields will protect the earth etc. etc. But who is going to protect us when the sun will be directly above our head.

Al-Miqdaad رضي الله عنه said that he heard the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم saying:

“On the Day of Judgment, the sun will draw near the servants until it is a mile or two away from them. Then the sun will burn them, and they will be submersed in sweat based upon the amount of their deeds. From among them there will be those whose sweat will come up to their two heels. From among them there will be those whose sweat will come up to their two knees. From among them there will be those whose sweat will come up to their groins (waists). From among them there will be those who will be bridled in sweat (up to their necks) and, while saying this, Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم pointed his hand towards his mouth.”

Al-Istiqaamah (Firmness Upon Islaam)

(Revised on Jan. 17, 2013)

{Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is Allaah (Alone),” and then they stand firm, on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): “Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!”} [Surah Fussilat (41): 30]

On the authority of Abu `Amr, though others call him Abu `Amrah Sufyaan bin `Abdullaah رضي الله عنه said: I said: “O Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم, tell me something about Islaam which I could not ask anyone about save you.” He صلى الله عليه وسلم answered: “Say: 'I believe in Allaah', and then stand firm and steadfast.” [Saheeh Muslim]
