The Number of Times the Trumpet will be Blown

Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said:

“The Trumpet [1] will be blown two times – and this is the correct (opinion): (The first) blowing will cause terror and make people swoon [2]; and (the second) will be blown for the Resurrection [3], as has been evident from the text of the Qur’aan. And the opinion that the Trumpet will be blown three times is weak [4].”

Removing the Doubts: The concept of “Haraam Maut” (Unlawful Death)

Growing-up I used to hear that whenever a person died in an accident, some people would term it as “Haraam maut”, literally meaning that the person – who met a sudden end due to an accident - died at a time when he was not supposed to have died.

Trials are a sign of goodness

The following Ahaadeeth are all taken from Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth al-Saheehah of Shaikh al-Albaanee

143. It was narrated from Mus`ab bin Sa`d that his father, Sa`d bin Abu Waqqaas رضي الله عنه said: “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah which people are most severely tested?' He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: 'The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A person is tested according to his religious commitment. If he is steadfast in his religious commitment, he will be tested more severely, and if he is frail in his religious commitment, his test will be according to his commitment. Trials will continue to afflict a person until they leave him walking on the earth with no sin on him.’

Ruling on playing the recording of the Qur'aan to ward off Shaitaan

Question: What is the ruling on playing a recording of the Qur’aan in the house and there is no one to hear it, arguing that it pushes out the Shaitaan from entering the house?

Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله answered:

“I do not know of any basis for that.” [1]

[1] What is confirmed from the Sunnah is that the person recites the Qur’aan himself like the aayat al-Kursee, the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah etc. One example is the following Hadeeth:

It was narrated that Abu Mas`ood al-Ansaari رضي الله عنه said: “The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ‘Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah at night that will suffice him.’” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (4723) and Saheeh Muslim (807)]

Mercy is of 2 Types

Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said:

“Mercy (الرحمة) is of two types: Mercy which is one of the attributes of Allaah سبحانه وتعالى like all the other attributes which are to be affirmed for Allaah تعالى without Tahreef (changing the meaning), and without Ta`teel (rejecting), and without Takayyif (describing them), and without Tamtheel (likening them to the creation).

Impermissibility of slaughtering near the graves

Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said:

“The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“There is no slaughtering (at the grave) in Islaam.” [1]

Being patient & Allaah's Decree

Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said:

“It is obligatory upon every slave not to get discontent with the Will of Allaah and His Decree; rather he should be patient and be pleased with it. Being patient is obligatory, while being pleased is something Mustahabb (desirable).”

Rejoice in the "concessions" of Allaah

On the authority of `Abdullaah ibn `Umar رضي الله عنهما that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Allaah تبارك وتعالى loves that you accept His concessions in the same way as He hates that you approach evil deeds.”

Weakness of the Hadeeth: Virtues of Surah al-Hashr (59)

Fatwa of Shaikh Ibn Baaz

Question: Assalaam `alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. I ask you about this Hadeeth if it is Saheeh or Dha`eef: on the authority of Ma`qil bin Yasaar on the authority of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that he said: “If anyone says on entering the morning: ‘I seek refuge in Allaah the all-Hearing the All-knowing from the accursed devil’, three times and recites the last three verses of Surah al-Hashr (59) then Allaah deputes over him seventy thousand angels who pray for his forgiveness till the evening. And if he dies during the day, he dies as a martyr. And, if anyone recites it in the evening then (too) he is of the same station.” What is the authenticity of this Hadeeth?

Shaikh Ibn Baaz: Ruling on saying "in shaa-Allaah" in the supplications

Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله was asked about the saying of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم:

لَا بَأْسَ طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

“Don't worry, Allaah willing, (your sickness will be) expiation for your sins.” [1]

So is it allowed to say “in shaa-Allaah” in the du`aa?
